Pediatric Dentists

Dr. Hill-Cordell has specialized in pediatric dentistry for over 17 years. She spent her childhood years in England and immigrated to the U.S. in 1980 where she attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.  She received her D.D.S. degree from University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School and completed a two year pediatric residency at the University of Illinois.  Dr. HIll-Cordell spent one year in a pediatric fellowship focusing on medically compromised children after residency.

In 1991, she started ABC Dentistry and has been loving working with children ever since.  She is a member of the ADA, CDS, ISDS, AAPD and is a past president of ISPD.  Dr. Hill-Cordell is on staff at Alexian Brothers Medical Center and volunteers for the Northwest Mobile Dental Van.
 

Dr. Hill-Cordell is married with five children ranging from kindergarten to college and looks forward to their various sporting events, reading, traveling and running.  Her gentle manner and genuine concern add a special quality to her 18 years of pediatric experience

Dr. Brodersen has specialized in pediatric dentistry for over 14 years. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois.  She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Indiana University,  She came back to Chicago and earned her D.D.S. degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School.  Following dental school , she stayed at the University of Illinois for a two year residency in pediatric dentistry. Her studies in pediatric dentistry continued with a year fellowship program.

Dr. Brodersen started working at ABC Dentistry in 1996 and has enjoyed working with children there ever since.  She is a member of the ADA, CDS, ISPD, ISDS and AAPD.  She is on staff at St. Alexius in Hoffman Estates.  Dr. Brodersen regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast on techniques and research in the field of pediatric dentistry.

She is married with three children.  When out of the office, she enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, running, reading and traveling. Dr. Brodersen strives to make each and every dental visit a positive and comfortable experience.

Dr. Albert received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and her degree in dentistry from The University of Michigan.  She completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned a Masters of Science degree as well as a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.  At the UIC, Dr. Albert’s research focused on infant oral health care.  After completing the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry board exam she earned Diplomate status of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.   She currently resides in Sleepy Hollow with her husband Dr. Sherif Albert and their one year old son Benjamin.

Dr. Miranda Albert joined ABC dentistry in 2006.  She is on staff at Alexian Brothers Medical Center.  She tremendously enjoys treating children and regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of evolving techniques in her specialty.  She also volunteers her time at community preschools and elementary schools teaching kids the importance of good oral health care. Dr. Albert is a member of the AAPD, ADA, ISDS, CDS, and ISPD. 

In her spare time Dr. Albert enjoys spending time with her husband and traveling.  They enjoy playing tennis, skiing, biking and sampling all of the wonderful cuisine Chicago has to offer.

Dr. Punwani is a Chicago Dental Society Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, University of Illinois at Chicago and Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of Dental Service, University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.

Dr. Punwani is a Diplomate of the  American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Fellow, American College of Dentists, Executive Director of Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists and the Past President of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Society of Dentistry for Children and the North Central Society of Pediatric Dentistry.  He is a past consultant/Member of Review Committee of the ADA Commission on Accreditation.

Dr. Punwani completed his dental education from the University of Bombay, India in 1961. He completed his fellowship in Pedodontics at the Guggenheim Dental Clinic, New York in 1963 and his Pediatric Dentistry Specialty certification and an MSD from the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1966.  He also received a DDS from the University of Bergen, Norway in 1970. Dr. Punwani has served on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh (1966-68), University of Bergen, Norway (1968-72) and at the University of Illinois in Chicago since 1972.

Dr. Punwani is married with two daughters and just became a grandfather for the first time in 2009. He has been practicing on a part time basis since 1975.

Dr. John Cordell is a general dentist who has been in private practice for over 20 years. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  He received his BA degree in Biology from the University of Illinois in 1985.  Upon completion of his four year undergraduate education in Champaign, IL, Dr. Cordell entered the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry, in Chicago.  In 1989, Dr. Cordell completed dental school receiving his DDS degree and earned a place in the one year General Practice Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  Dr. Cordell currently works in private practice at ABC Dentistry in Schaumburg, Illinois.

 Dr. Cordell has remained active in his profession during his years of private practice.  He is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.  In addition, Dr. Cordell attends many continuing education courses annually.

Dr. Cordell has been married for over twenty years and is the father of five children.  He enjoys spending time and coaching them in their youth sporting activities. He is also a passionate golfer.
 

Dr. Hainds grew up in Jacksonville, IL.  She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University.  She then moved to Farmington, CT and completed her D.M.D. degree at the University of Connecticut.  After completion of dental school, she moved back to the Midwest for a 1-year AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency program at Southern Illinois University, which she completed in June 2009.

Dr. Hainds joined ABC Dentistry as an associate in 2009.  She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, and she attends continuing education courses to stay informed of the new advances in dentistry.  She thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and is excited to be practicing at ABC Dentistry in Schaumburg.

Dr. Hainds was recently married on August 1st 2009 to her fiancé Joseph Bopp.  She is looking forward to spending time with her new husband and enjoying all that the Chicago area has to offer!

Orthodontist

Dr. Danielle Bauer grew up in Homer Glen, IL. She received her undergraduate degree in Genetic Biology from Purdue University. She then returned home to complete her dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. While in dental school, Dr. Bauer was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honors fraternity, as well as graduating number one in her class. After completing dental school, she then went on to a 3 year residency program where she received her Masters Degree in Oral Sciences as well as her specialty certificate in Orthodontics.

Dr. Bauer is active in continuing education and is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, and Illinois Society of Orthodontics.

She loves working with children and adults of all ages and is looking forward to meeting with you and discussing how we can achieve your esthetic goals. She takes the time to discuss treatment options and will help you choose the best one for your needs.

Dr. Bauer is married to Dr. Bryan Bauer, a general dentist in Wheaton, and they are expecting their first baby in July 2010. They are huge sports enthusiasts, especially Big 10 sports. They also enjoy traveling, gardening, and cooking.

Maranda Rice
Office Manager 

Maranda began working at ABC Dentistry in 2001, as a business team member.  She moved into the office manager position in Sept 2008.  Maranda and her husband live in Algonquin and have two beautiful daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.   She can be contacted at mrice@abcdds.com.

The Hygiene Team 

Our Hygiene Team is a highly qualified, well skilled, child friendly group of professionals.  The hygienists understand apprehension toward dental visits, and they are specially trained to alleviate any concerns.  Oral hygiene instructions, dietary suggestions, and regular 6 month preventive care visits to our office will help to guide you and your family through a lifetime of healthy smiles!
